I’ve been an apprentice at Stafforce since the end of January and I’ve already learnt so much. I’m working in the central telesales team that supports branches across the country as part of my Apprenticeship in Customer Service. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m already enjoying my experience in the world of work!
Before joining Stafforce, I was doing a Subsidiary Diploma in IT at Barnsley College, but I decided that the course just wasn’t for me. I needed to do something that was more hands on, and then I saw the apprentice advert for this role at Stafforce.
Many people ask what an Apprenticeship is. Do you know? Well for those of you who don’t, an Apprenticeship offers people an opportunity to learn whilst working and earning some money.
I go to work just as anyone else would and I have a supervisor in the workplace. I work as part of the telesales team and everyone helps me to reach the best of my ability. Every day is different for me, and my daily tasks include things like sourcing different sales leads, cold calling and generally helping the central team…so they can secure new appointments and clients for the business.
As well as working day-to-day, I’m also doing some off the job training and eventually I will have a nationally recognised qualification. It’s the best of both worlds and fingers crossed it’s a route to full time employment.
I have been here for just over a month and already my knowledge of the company and work experience has developed. I feel like I could have a big part to play in the business and am really excited. With the support of the Stafforce team, I feel that I can grow quickly in my role and gain a great qualification on top of it, whilst getting paid to learn…which is always a bonus!
What I like to think is that five years down the line when I am 21 and my friends have just left University, I’ll have both qualifications and great experience under my belt. I wonder where I’ll be in ten years’ time!?
