In the recruitment industry, a lot of candidates are sometimes confused with what recruitment agencies do, and what they are expected to do.  Of course as a recruitment agency we are here to help you find that perfect job; but we need to work as a team to get you there! Here are some good pointers that can help you get the best out of our services:

We will not do all the work for you, but we can help.

One of our main jobs is to get your CV in front of our clients.  If the CV is not good enough to go past that first stage, then it is up to you, to make it more attractive. We can help by providing you with great resources to tailor your CV and provide you with hints and tips on how to succeed  http://bit.ly/OvRP9T.

Just make sure your CV is updated every time you want to apply.

Tailor your CV each time you apply for a specific job

You have a bigger chance of being shortlisted if you tailor your CV for every position you apply for. There is nothing wrong with having different versions of your CV as long as it is all the truth. If you highlight specific skills to each role, your CV will stand out more to the employer.

A poor online reputation will put us and the employer off

Make sure that your online presence is professional. As I have mentioned in my previous blog – http://bit.ly/MiwDWc employers will look at your social media sites to find out more about you as a person. This will not be reflected if you have inappropriate pictures and posts. Only you can control what is online, so take the opportunity to look good!

Don’t harass the middle man

Following up your CV with a letter or email shows that you are interested and keen. You only need to do this once. Then the ball will be in our court, and we will be calling you when the perfect job opportunity comes up. So we can save you time and you don’t need to keep chasing.

We need to know what you are good at

As a recruiter, we are here to help you find jobs that you are qualified for. You will most likely fail if you walk into a recruitment agency with no idea about your prospects or skills. To get that dream job, make sure your CV highlights your strengths so that you can shine and stand out from the crowds!

Just remember, a recruitment agency is here to make job searching easier for you. However, you still need to help us help you!
